College Phone Set Features (& Related Information)
Description:
Confederation College maintains its own telephone system. The Avaya IP Office system supports approximately 1000 Avaya 9608 VOIP (“voice over IP”) telephone sets. Telephone sets have many features including:

Three/six party conferencing

Call hold

Hands-free phone

Corporate Directory

Name dialing

Caller ID (name and number)
These features and more are available on many phones. To access these features you must activate the appropriate button on your phone. For specific information on accessing these features, please see the Computer Services Web Site.
Who is it for:
Various telephones are located throughout the College and are available for employees and students to use. Access to phone features depends on the features that have been enabled. Some features are only authorized/enabled for employees.

Soft Keys |
Use the soft keys to act on the highlighted line on the screen. The soft key labels show you the action that each key produces. The labels and the actions vary depending on the screen being displayed. |

Visual Voice Mail Button |
An illuminated red light in the upper-right corner of your phone indicates that you have voice mail. If Visual Alerting is enabled, this light flashes when you receive an incoming call. In addition to the message waiting indictor, the Message button is also illuminated when you have mail. |

Phone Screen Key |
Press Phone to view the phone screen. During a call, you can gain access to the following options from the phone screen: ®Hold ®Conference ®Transfer ®Drop Call |

Headset Button |
Press the Headset button to use the headset if connected. |

Volume +/- key |
While on an active call, press plus (+) or minus (-) on the Volume button to adjust the volume of your handset, headset, or speaker. While you are not on an active call, pressing these buttons adjusts the ringer volume. |

Mute Button |
Press the Mute button to mute a call in progress.. To take a call off mute, press Mute again. |

Keypad for Dialing or Directory Searching |
®Dialing — use keys 1 thru 9 and 0 to dial the number required ®Directory — to use the internal staff Directory enter either the person's first name or surname. The zero button is used to insert a space if required. |

Handsfree Button |
Press the Speaker button to use the speakerphone. To take a call off speakerphone, lift the handset or press the Headset button. |

Directory — Home — History Keys |
®Directory — Press Directory to view the entries ®Home — Press Home to gain access to the Avaya Menu to configure options and settings, logout, or view network information. ®History — Press History to view the history of your outgoing, incoming, and missed calls. The icon on the History button is illuminated when you have missed calls. The top line shows the Missed Call icon and the number of calls that you have missed. |

OK & Navigation Arrows |
The OK button performs the action of the highlighted option of a menu. Use the right and left navigation arrows to navigate from one screen to another, or to move the cursor during text input. Use the up and down navigation arrows to move from one line to another. |
