Computer Labs at Confederation College

Service Description

Computer Labs at Confederation College are provided to support the academic learning needs of all students, and employees.  All College computer labs are purchased and supported through the Computer Services Help Desk.

All College buildings, including those of the regional campuses, have at least one computer lab.  A standard base academic software suite (image) is installed on all general computer labs, though some labs contain additional program/course-specific software.

There are two types of computing labs: general classroom and open-booking.  General classroom labs are used for primarily for classroom teaching and are booked through central scheduling.  Open-booking labs are meant strictly for student booking and are never booked for classes.

Access and Availability

All general classroom labs must be booked through central room scheduling (Registrar’s office for regular class scheduling).   Ad-hoc computer lab room bookings can be made through the Facilities Services room scheduling service.

Hours of Operation:

The Shuniah and McIntyre building computer lab hours of operation are as follows:

Monday – Thursday: 8 AM – 11 PM
Friday: 8 AM – 9 PM
Saturday: 10 AM – 5 PM
Sunday: Noon – 8 PM

These hours of operation are reduced during the summer months or on some holidays.  The hours of operation for computer labs in other buildings or the regional campuses are set for each location and may differ from the hours above.
