To engage at risk students in a on-campus college experience and dual-credit opportunity which focuses on meeting the needs of the students towards obtaining a secondary school diploma while establishing a connection to the college and post-secondary pathway.  This student success integrated program with the college will serve as a prerequisite for future dual credit opportunities within (top-up) courses in the student's interest and exit planning.  Students will engage in college delivered dual credit opportunities and they will also be given the opportunity to gain more high school credits via independent learning courses, as well as co-op and paid co-op credits.  The program at Dryden High School may be integrated with the current PASS ) Parents Attending Secondary School - and add the positive aspects of the regular SWAC with the supports of PASS program. This program will target at-risk students who already attend or have a plan to attend the various alternative programs already at Dryden High School and perhaps other regional campuses along with a connection to their respective Secondary Schools (Sioux Lookout Campus - Queen Elizabeth High School, Red Lake - Red Lake District High School). We will be looking to re-engage students who are in our community, but haven't graduated.  Our target group will be students aged 17-21 with 20-29 credits.  These students will be introduced to a the college environment getting a feel for college and being around college students and adults who are trying to complete college programs. The secondary students will still have the supports from the secondary school to help these students, off site of their High School, to work towards their successful completion of secondary school diploma and establish a plan for continued success after high school. We may also look to expand SWAC programming to Ignace and Pickle Lake High Schools by providing a virtual college experience.
