College Delivered |
This program will target at-risk students and offer them a variety of college delivered dual credits. We will be looking to re-engage students who are in our community, but haven't graduated. Our target group will be students aged 18-21 with 20-29 credits. These at-risk students will be introduced to the college environment and hopefully the change in educational settings will help engage the students and help them graduate from high school. At the same time, the students will get a great feel for college, and hopefully find a program in college to suit their interests. We will be operating this program in 3 different high schools and Confederation College. Our 3 schools are over 250 km apart. Thus, instead of getting all the students to one location as bigger cities do, we will need to operate out of 3 locations. Confederation College will offer courses that can be taken through Centra. We will need to staff the College and the 2 remote high schools with a staff member to help coordinate the Independent Learning Courses. Students will work in the afternoons on Tuesday and Thursday on the ILC's.
