To engage students with an opportunity to learn about one of the most popular trades - welding. Students will gain a first hand practical experience in welding while learning T-Joints in a number of different positions. This course will have a focus on a pathway to a post-secondary program within welding and the various industries and trades with welding a part of. Students in this program will have the opportunity to see a clear pathway between high school and post secondary education, and discover their potential for success in a college program.

One - two days per week the students will work with the college instructor for the CU 140 course at the secondary school site. The TFT 3C course will be delivered on a daily basis as per the semester system. Opportunities will be provided for the students to do job shadowing and reach ahead types of activities at the college. Students enrolled in this program will be 'at risk' and interested senior students who thrive in a hands on learning environment that combines their passion for success and hospitality. This program will serve to reinforce both student self-confidence and the bridge to college after high school for these students from a remote, northern community

To engage students with an opportunity to learn about the environment and our forests. Students will gain a first hand practical experience in the environmental and forestry sectors, with a focus on a pathway to a post-secondary program within an environmental or forestry program through the SCWI opportunities. Students will take lessons from the classroom, and using these lessons, practically apply their newly learned skills toward job readiness certificate training opportunities and applied learning on field trips. Students in this program will have the opportunity to see a clear pathway between high school and post secondary education, and discover their potential for success in a college program.
