Admission Requirements for International Students

Confederation College uses academic information such as credentials, course completion, grades and English proficiency to determine an applicant’s eligibility for admission. Please refer to the “Admission Requirements” section of individual program pages or the international student program chart for program-specific requirements. You may also want to see what important documents are needed for international students.

Confederation College reserves the right to change admissions requirements at any time.

Age Requirement

Applicants must be 18yrs of age within their first semester of study to qualify for admission into Confederation College.

Backlog/Failure Allowances

Confederation College allows for up to 10 backlogs/failures on a high school, college or university transcript for entry into our programs. 

Minimum Pass Marks

There is a minimum passing average required for entry into our post-secondary programs. This mark depends on your country of study. For more information, please  Contact Us to connect with a Confederation College representative.

Admission Requirements - by country

Cameroon

For Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Certificate:

  • General Certificate Advanced Level (A) must have at least two (2) courses with a minimum grade of C in required program subjects and overall OR 
  • Baccalaureat with minimum grade of 10 in required program subjects and overall  

For Postgraduate Certificate:

  • General Certificate Advanced Level (A) must have at least two (2) courses with a minimum grade of C in required program subjects and overall OR 
  • Baccalaureat with minimum grade of 10 in required program subjects and overall.  
  • Degree/ Diploma & transcripts for any postsecondary programs completed (1st or 2nd class standing) 

 

Ghana

For Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Certificate:

  • West African Senior School Certificate – with a minimum of C6 overall, course specifics must be C6 or above, English must be C4 or higher OR 
  • Senior School Certificate awarded by the National Examinations Council (NECO) – with a minimum of C6 overall, course specifics must be C6 or above, English must be C4 or higher

For Postgraduate Certificate:

  • West African Senior School Certificate – with a minimum of C6 overall, course specifics must be C6 or above, English must be C4 or higher OR 
  • Senior School Certificate awarded by the National Examinations Council (NECO) – with a minimum of C6 overall, course specifics must be C6 or above, English must be C4 or higher
  • Degree/ Diploma & transcripts for any postsecondary programs completed (1st or 2nd class standing (some programs will allow second class lower) 

 

Kenya

For Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Certificate:

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), with a minimum passing grade of C

For Postgraduate Certificate:

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), with a minimum passing grade of C 
  • Degree/ Diploma & transcripts for any postsecondary programs completed (1st or 2nd class standing - some programs will allow second class lower)

 

Nigeria

For Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Certificate:

  • West African Senior School Certificate – with a minimum of C6 overall, course specifics must be C6 or above, English must be C4 or higher OR 
  • Senior School Certificate awarded by the National Examinations Council (NECO) – with a minimum of C6 overall, course specifics must be C6 or above, English must be C4 or higher

  • The National Senior High School Examination (School Leaving Certificate), minimum grade of 60 % overall, and 60% in course specifics OR 
  • Graduation Certificate awarded by senior (upper) middle school; may be academic or vocationally oriented, minimum grade of 60 % overall, and 60% in course specifics 

For Postgraduate Certificate:

  • The National Senior High School Examination (School Leaving Certificate), minimum grade of 60 % overall, and 60% in course specifics OR
  • Graduation Certificate awarded by senior (upper) middle school; may be academic or vocationally oriented, minimum grade of 60 % overall, and 60% in course specifics OR

India

  • Higher Secondary School Certificate (Class 12), Minimum 50 % overall (50% for specific courses), accelerated programs, 60 % overall
  • Backlog Summary- maximum 10 backlogs
  • Degree/ Diploma & transcripts for any postsecondary programs completed, Minimum 55% overall, (55% for specific courses)

 

Nepal

For Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Certificate:

  • Higher Secondary Education Certificate / National Examination Board Certificate / School Leaving Certificate Examination

For Postgraduate Certificate:

  • Higher Secondary Education Certificate / National Examination Board Certificate / School Leaving Certificate Examination
  • Degree/ Diploma & transcripts for any postsecondary programs completed

 

Philippines 

For Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Certificate:

  • Senior High School (Grade 12) Diploma and Transcripts, minimum pass

For Postgraduate Certificate:

  • Senior High School (Grade 12) Diploma and Transcripts, minimum pass
  • Degree/ Diploma & transcripts for any postsecondary programs completed - 1 highest & 5 lowest – nothing lower than 2.5, 5 highest & 1 lowest – nothing lower than 2.75

 

South Korea 

For Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Certificate:

  • High School transcripts & diploma, rank 8 or Higher, accelerated programs minimum 80% or Rank 4

For Postgraduate Certificate:

  • High School transcripts & diploma, rank 8 or Higher, accelerated programs minimum 80% or Rank 4
  • Degree/ Diploma & transcripts for any postsecondary programs completed, minimum 60 % (60 % in specific course) 

 

Vietnam

For Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Certificate:

  • Upper Secondary School Certificate ( Bàng Tốt Nghiệp Phố Thông Trung Học), minimum pass, Minimum of 5.5/10, or Minimum of 2.2/4

For Postgraduate Certificate:

  • Upper Secondary School Certificate ( Bàng Tốt Nghiệp Phố Thông Trung Học), minimum pass
  • Degree/ Diploma & transcripts for any postsecondary programs completed, Minimum of  5.5/10 or Minimum of 2.2/4

United Kingdom

For Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Certificate:

  • General Certificate of Education Advanced (A Level), must have at least 2 subjects OR
  • Advanced Supplementary Levels (A/S Level), must have at least 4 subjects 
  • General Certificate of Secondary Education (O Level) must have at least 5 subjects. Please note: Students with only O levels qualify for a fundamental program. (Pre-Health, Pre-Tech, General Arts certificate). 

For Postgraduate Certificate:

  • General Certificate of Education Advanced (A Level), must have at least 2 subjects OR
