Library Accessibility Services
This is a special assistive service provided for students. These services may include retrieving materials, providing physical assistance with copiers, computers, and other library equipment.
Who Qualifies?
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (A.D.H.D.)
- Blind and low vision
- Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing
- Learning Disabilities
- Medical Disabilities
- Mental health disabilities
- Mild acquired brain injury
- Physical disability or mobility impairment
How to Qualify?
- Contact an an Accessibility Advisor in Student Success.
- The advisor will discuss eligibility requirements and the documentation you need to access enhanced services.

Services
ACE Portal

The ACE Portal gives students with an Accommodation Plan access to library books in accessible formats.
Assistive devices
- There is a catalogue station designated for wheelchair access with a sizable screen and large print.
Book/Journal retrieval
- Library staff will retrieve books or journals from Library shelves for you.
Browsing assistance
- Staff will assist you in browsing Library shelves, including reading titles or lifting books.
Catalogue Assistance
- Library staff will assist you in using the online Library catalogue, the Library website, or any electronic resources.
Extended Loan Services
- Students with an Accommodation Plan have the option of requesting an extended loan period for some books. You can renew your book by phone, email or in person. To make a request for an extended loan, send an email to: [email protected].
Photocopying
- Library staff will assist you in using copy machines.
