Digital Display Guidelines

All content is screened prior to running on the digital signage screens. Please ensure your content fits within the guidelines below before submission. If you need assistance or clarification before creating your ad, please feel free to contact us. Submitted slides that do not meet the approved guidelines are subject to alterations.

Acceptable Content

  • Confederation College services available to students, staff and faculty
  • Confederation College events, giveaways and contests available to students, staff and faculty on campus
  • Academic course/class deadlines or reminders
  • Key information for students related to the campus; ie: campus closures, OSAP info, Thunder Bay Transit, campus maintenance, etc.
  • Promotion for the recruiting of prospective students
  • Fundraising for causes that the college is officially involved in; ie United Way Stock the Bank

Unacceptable Content

  • Advertising for companies, groups or agencies outside of Confederation College
  • Content that is offensive, violent, discriminatory, sexually explicit
  • Content that does not meet the approved style guidelines

Submissions will be evaluated and approved on an individual basis.

Based on the information received, Advancement and Communications will design content to be displayed that is in compliance with the Confederation College brand and upload to the appropriate screens.

Text

Text must be short and easily read, no more than one paragraph is recommended. Best practice is to limit information to Date, Time, Location, Cost and an easy to remember link to more information. This could be an email address, short URL, phone number, or directions to the HUB or SUCCI office.

Images

The announcement template that we use is best with an image resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels or higher. JPG is the preferred image file format. PDF, PNG, GIF, DOC, PUB and others will need to be converted by the Advancement and Communications department.

I Want To Create My Own Ad

General guidelines:

  • Slides will only display for 10 seconds during the rotation
  • Visual Requirement - in order for an ad to be accepted it must be professional, readable and well designed
  • Audio is unavailable
  • Slides must be 1920x1080 pixels or higher
  • File format required is JPG

Note: Submissions will be reviewed within 24 hours. There is no guarantee that submissions will be added to the monitor the same day the request is submitted.

I Want an Ad Created

Submission guidelines:

  • Requests must be submitted 5 business days in advance
  • Requests can only be made by staff, faculty and students. Outside vendors are prohibited
