IRS Statement (SAFE Campus)
Concept: The Responsibility is Mine
The Occupational Health and Safety Act defines the duties of workplace parties.
As an employee, or "worker", I have the responsibility to work in compliance with the Act.
I must use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that the College requires me to use or wear.
I must report to my supervisor the absence of, or defect in, any equipment or protective device that may endanger me, a co-worker or another member of the College community.
I must report contraventions of the Act to my supervisor.
I must report hazards and health and safety concerns to my supervisor.
Learn It: The Responsibility is Mine
As an employee, I must complete mandatory health and safety within the specified time frames.
As an employee, I have access to copies of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations - both on-line and hardcopy versions.
As an employee, I have access to my supervisor and to other resource people within the College who can help me with questions that I might have about my health and safety responsibilities.
