Suspicious Package or Item (SAFE Campus)
If you find or notice a suspicious item, letter or package:
- Do not touch it.
- Do not shake or bump the package.
- Do not open, smell, examine, touch or taste the package: treat it as suspect.
- Clear the immediate area where the object was discovered.
- From a safe location outside the room in which the object was found, or at a safe distance from an item found in a public place, call Security immediately at 922.
- Provide the following information:
- your name,
- current location,
- contact phone number,
- the location of the item,
- a description of the object, and
- why you feel it is suspicious (e.g. size; the presence of obvious wires, batteries, sounds; location; etc.).
