Accessing Email (Formerly Webmail)
- Login to Office 365 (instructions).
- Select the "Mail" application.
- You will receive all of your emails here, ensure that you check back often for updates from your instructors and the college.
Instructions for adding your College O365 e-mail to your iOS or Android Device
Accessing Online Office Applications
- Login to Office 365 instructions.
- Select the application you would like to open, such as Word or PowerPoint.
- This will open the web browser version of the application. This version will contain most of the features you will need.
Saving Documents
To OneDrive:
- From the web browser version you can save documents to your OneDrive. When working on a document, click "File".
- Click "Save As"
- Click "Save As - Save a copy online"
- Enter the desired name of the document.
- Check the "Replace existing file" box if you'd like to overwrite a previous version of the file. Note that you cannot have two files with the same name and type in your OneDrive.
- Click "Save". this will save the document in your online OneDrive storage space. You can access your saved files from any internet connected device able to log into Office 365.
To Local PC or Mac:
- From the web browser version you can also save documents to your PC or Mac. When working on a document, click "File".
- Click "Save As"
- Click "Download a Copy". Note that there are different file types in this menu that may be important to pay attention to, depending on your desired output. The file should now download into your computer's Downloads folder.
Accessing Saved Files in OneDrive
- Log into Office 365 (instructions)
- Click on the OneDrive application.
- The application will load. The first screen in OneDrive will show an overview of all of your files and folders under the "Files" heading.
- You can click on the file or folder you are interested in to open it.
- You can also select multiple files by clicking on the checkmark circle to the left of the file or folder name.
- You can then right-click to perform more actions on the files you've selected.
Installing Microsoft Office365
You can install the full version of Microsoft Office365 to your device (PC or Mac) for use as a student of Confederation College. This version will not require an internet connection once installed.
- Log into Office 365 (instructions).
- In the home screen of Office 365, click on the “Install Office” button on the top right of the screen, and then select "Office 365 Apps".
- This will download an executable installation file to your device. Open this file and follow the prompts to install the suite.
- Note: The installers will vary depending on your operating system (Windows 7, 8, 10, or Mac OS).
- Once installed, you can use the entire Office365 suite on your device offline.
