Testing Rules and Regulations
Testing Centre Rules
- Students must provide a piece of valid Photo ID when checking in to write their exam.
Acceptable forms of ID include (Student Card, Driver’s License, Health Card, Passport, Canadian Citizenship Card, Certificate of Indian Status Card, Permanent Resident Card, Ontario Photo Card)
* Please note that we are unable to test any student who does not present valid photo ID - Students will follow all instructions given to them by Testing Centre staff prior, during and after testing while in the Centre.
- Only authorized materials should be at your desk.
Prior to starting your test or exam, you will be asked to store your belongings in a designated area by Testing Centre staff. - Electronic devices of any kind, including cell phones, ipods, tablets, etc., are not permitted at the student’s exam workstation.
Storage is provided to store your personal belongings. Students are discouraged from bringing valuable personal items with them, as the Testing Centre staff is not responsible for lost or stolen items. - Students must adhere to the length of their test as outlined by their instructor.
A notice will be given when your test time has concluded. Students must hand in all test/exam materials to the invigilator at that time, and must not make any last minute changes or alterations to the test or exam. - Students must supply their own pens, pencils and calculators (if required/allowed)
- All materials, including scrap paper, must be turned in to the exam invigilator
- Non-Confederation College students may have additional rules & regulations that are determined by their educational institution and/or organization.
- Unauthorized behaviour will be reported to your instructor who will determine the consequences.
Unauthorized behaviour or conduct includes: talking to others while in the testing room; accessing prohibited materials and websites, being disruptive, disrespectful, and/or threatening to staff or other users of the Testing Centre. Please see Confederation College's policy on Academic Integrity and the Student Code of Conduct. - Tests must be written by the deadline outlined on the Instructors Testing Centre Test Supervision Form.
Any expired test/exam will not be given to the student to write unless they have explicit written permission from the instructor and bring a copy of the note to the Testing Centre. - Missed tests are returned to your instructor after the last day to write has passed.
- Please refrain from wearing scented products as Confederation College is a Fragrance Free campus.
- Children are not allowed in the Testing Centre.
Children cannot be left unattended in the reception area. - No food or drink of any kind is allowed in the examination rooms.
This includes coffee and bottled water. - Ear plugs are available to help reduce noise.
- No loitering or talking in the Testing Centre or the outside area
- Cheating is strictly prohibited.
If caught the invigilator will stop the test and the instructor will be informed. Please see Confederation College's policy on Academic Integrity. - Students' are expected to adhere to Confederation College's Student Code of Conduct and the Charter of Students' Rights and Responsibilities.
Prohibited Materials in the Examination Rooms
- Cell phones – please turn off and leave with your personal belongings
- Bags, coats, personal electronics must remain outside of the examination room
- Food and/or beverages – this includes coffee and bottled water. You may be allowed to leave your drink with your personal belongings and exit the room to have a drink if allowed by your exam instructions.
- Electronic devices – Personal laptops, watches, USBs, MP3 recorders, etc.
