I knew I wanted to be a teacher by grade 4 when our teacher had us make up a class rap, and I thought, ‘I could see myself doing this forever. Before long, I was studying to make those dreams come true right here in Thunder Bay where I completed my English, French, and Education degrees at Lakehead University, and later at Carleton University where I obtained my Masters in English.
I am passionate about teaching and learning languages and am a self-described word-nerd. My love of languages is paralleled only by my love of the outdoors. I started my career in outdoor education, leading canoe trips and facilitating adventure ropes courses, before eventually transitioning to academic teaching, where I've spent the last 15 years teaching French in elementary school and English in high school and post secondary. To my chagrin, I've written very few class raps at this time.
I love teaching in Academic Upgrading. I am so lucky that my job allows me to work with a diverse group of adult students who all have different stories and dreams. I am committed to helping you meet your goals and can’t wait to meet you!
Some Facts About Me:

- I can take things seriously when I have to, but I will usually try to see if I can get away with things like writing a cheeky bio first.
