How I Became a Teacher
I grew up in Thunder Bay and graduated from Lakehead University’s Civil Engineering program in 2006. I worked as a consulting engineer in training for a few years before returning to school and completing a Master’s of Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Alberta in 2010. I then returned to the workforce becoming a Professional Engineer in 2011. I worked as a Sessional Lecturer both at Confederation College and Lakehead University while working in consulting engineering until August 2015, when I accepted a full time position as a professor in Civil Engineering Technology at Confederation College.
I love my career in Engineering, it has given and continues to give me many opportunities and experiences which I otherwise would not have been exposed to.
