Confederation College Distributes Over $246,000 in Student Awards

Confederation College has distributed more than $246,000 in scholarships, bursaries, and in-program awards to students this academic year, continuing its commitment to student success and access to education.
In the last month alone:
- $188,000 was awarded to 235 students through 292 in-program awards
- $19,198 supported 47 First Generation students
- $39,400 was distributed to 54 Indigenous students
This year, Confederation College’s enhanced Awards Portal has improved access to internal awards. As a result, applications for both First Generation and Indigenous bursaries more than doubled, reflecting increased student engagement and awareness.
The college’s internal awards program supports students based on financial need, academic performance, and community involvement. In addition to these internal opportunities, students are also encouraged to explore a wide range of external scholarships offered by external organizations, foundations, and partners.
These supports are part of a broader effort by Confederation College to reduce financial barriers and ensure that students from all backgrounds have access to postsecondary education.
