The Active Commute Challenge (ACC) is a workplace challenge sponsored by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit. It encourages city and district residents to actively commute to and from work during the month of June. This was the first year for this event in Thunder Bay, and it was a great success. Forty workplace teams including 364 people, registered for the challenge and, as a community, we actively commuted 20,189.68 km and saved 4133.56kg greenhouse gas emissions!
Confederation College was the winner of most kilometers logged for a medium sized workplace and won a prize of two city bike racks, soon to be installed on campus.
Miriam Loves-Her-Bike finished in the top 10 for most actively traveled kilometres during TbayOnTheMove’s Active Commute Challenge and won a prize too.
Way to go Confed!
