We are once again devastated to learn of another tragic discovery. Earlier today, Cowessess First Nation announced that as many as 751 unmarked graves, expected to be mainly Indigenous children, have been found near the former Marieval Indian Residential School in Saskatchewan, about 140 kilometres east of Regina.

Our hearts go out to the children, their families and the many survivors of residential schools who continue to be deeply affected by this terrible part of our history. In memory and honour of the children, we have lowered our flags to half-mast.
