Freedom to Read Week is February 19 – 25, 2023

Freedom to Read Week encourages Canadians to think about and reaffirm their commitment to intellectual freedom, which is guaranteed by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Student freedom of expression rights are essential to education in a free and democratic society.  Libraries play a prime role in the teaching process of any institution and acting as the standard-bearers for freedom of expression rights within that school community.
