International Women's Day

Today, Wednesday March 8, 2023, Confederation College recognizes International Women’s Day.
International Women’s Day is one of the United Nation’s international observances which originated from a resolution passed by the General Assembly in 1977. It has been celebrated internationally since. In Canada, this year’s theme is “Every Woman Counts” which is a “reminder that all women, from all ages and walks of life, have a place in every aspect of Canadian society, including in the economic, social and democratic spheres.”
Here at the College, we wanted to take a moment to amplify and celebrate the achievements of women while recognizing that gender equality is still a distant goal.
