September 19: a Day of Mourning

The date of Queen Elizabeth’s funeral will be marked as a national holiday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced today. On Monday, September 19, federally regulated workers will have the day off, but provincially it will not be a public holiday. Instead, the province will mark September 19 as a provincial "Day of Mourning" for Ontarians. Staff and students are invited to observe a moment of silence at 1:00 p.m. ET that day as well as to stop by the Student Commons where the funeral and procession will be streamed.
