Our goal: To empower students to learn more effectively and efficiently, earn higher grades, become more independent and aware learners, and continue their educational journey here at our College and beyond!
Writing Centre Fall 2024 Drop-in Hours
- Mondays 11:30am - 3:20pm
- Tuesdays 12:30 - 3:20pm
- Wednesdays 12:30 - 3:20pm
- Thursdays 11:30am - 4:20pm & 6:30 - 8:20pm
- Fridays 1:30 - 3:20pm

The Writing Centre is located in room 146a (inside the first-floor library).

Email Assistance
The Writing Centre can provide assistance to students via email.
Students may address their questions to: [email protected]. Please attach any applicable work in progress, assignment guidelines, and/or evaluation criteria. In your email message, please ask specific questions and/or indicate what area you need assistance with (e.g., “I don’t understand how to format a reference entry for this source, can you help me?”).
Email requests will be attended to within 24-48 business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm). Emails sent after hours or on weekends will be held until the next available business day.

The Writing Centre assists with the following:
- Getting started on a writing assignment
- Organizing ideas
- Reading comprehension
- Finding reliable sources using internet and library databases
- Writing in APA format
- Citing sources, avoiding plagiarism and maintaining academic integrity
- Spelling, grammar and paragraph structure
- Using Microsoft Office applications
- Filling out Scholarship and Bursary Applications (APA documentation, research, organization/format)
