(THUNDER BAY, ON – August 1, 2024) – Confederation College and Prime Gelato are excited to announce a delicious new partnership to celebrate the upcoming school year. The collaboration introduces a custom gelato flavour that pays homage to the college's beloved mascot, Storm.

A limited-edition gelato flavour, Stormberry Cheesecake, is a blend of strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, and Haskap berry swirled into a creamy cheesecake base. This unique flavour captures the essence of the Northwestern Ontario, home to the college’s eight campuses, while

giving a playful nod to Confederation College's mascot.

"We're incredibly excited about this partnership with Prime Gelato," says Michelle Salo, incoming President at Confederation College. "It's more than just a delicious treat; it's a celebration of our community's spirit and the importance of local collaborations. As we gear up for another exciting academic year, this partnership reminds us of the sweet opportunities that await our students in Northwestern Ontario."

The Stormberry Cheesecake flavour will be available at Prime Gelato from August 1 to August 16, 2023. To kick off this cool collaboration, current Confederation College students were invited to enjoy a free scoop on August 1, at Prime Gelato's Red River location.

“Inviting our students for a free scoop of gelato is a great way to show what school spirit is all about,” notes Robin Gathercole, President of the SUCCI student union. “We want to make all our students feel welcome, as well as show them all the great things Thunder Bay has to offer. This kick-off event is a great way to meet people in different programs, the SUCCI board, and really get excited for the upcoming semester.”

This partnership highlights Confederation College's commitment to fostering community relationships and supporting local enterprises, while also offering students a taste of the warm welcome that awaits them in Thunder Bay.
