Flags at Half-Mast for Bill Davis

Flags at Confederation College's Thunder Bay Campus are being flown at half-mast in honour of Bill Davis, former Premier of Ontario, who passed away August 8, 2021.

Bill Davis was a strong leader in education and the architect of Ontario Colleges. Students for generations have and will benefit from his foresight and wisdom. Premier Davis remained interested and involved in Ontario colleges for his entire life. He truly worked for the greater good of all Ontarians and left a legacy in higher education for which we are all thankful. Canada has the highest rate of postsecondary attainment in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) member countries as a result of the college system.
