Welcome to Abbey Nedgial!

Please join us in welcoming Abbey Nedgial (soon to be Mirabelli) to the School of Health, Negahneewin, and Community Services! Abbey is our new Academic Manager, Healthcare programs, working directly with the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), Practical Nursing (PN), Personal Support Worker, and Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) programs with her first day being Monday September 12th. Abbey is in the process of completing her Masters of Sport Science, with Major in Sport Psychology.  She is a graduate from the Collaborative BScN program at Lakehead University and, since graduation, has been clinical instructing for the BScN program.  Abbey comes to us from the Thunder Bay District Health Unit having been in a variety of roles including Senior Public Health Nurse, and Professional Practice Lead.  She was also the acting ONA Union President for the past 1 ½ years while at the Health Unit.  Her background is in pediatric and NICU nursing and continues in a casual role at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. In her spare time, she is also the Director and Supervisor for Giant Gymnastics providing her an additional 10 years of working experience with students, staff, and community members.  We look forward to having Abbey join the Administrative team.
